Local Rides 2008
2008 saw us change the configuration on the quint - the girls are getting bigger and
the child stocker kit is a thing of the past.  We are now stacked tallest to shortest, and
are told it looks pretty cool.  Hopefully we'll get some pictures of the new setup soon.
First off was the 2008 Buena Vista Bike Fest.  This year we decided to start at the first
rest stop and do the loops around Leadville.  Late winter weather changed the routes,
but we still had a great day of ridding.
Getting ready to go.
Nice view from the second rest
stop.
Lunch in Leadville.
Next was the Colorado Tandem Club Memorial Day Tour - this year in Glenwood
Springs, CO.  Day 1 was a ride from Glenwood Springs to Rifle Falls State Park, then
back through the town of Rifle.  It was cold and drizzly to start, but ended up a nice day.
Getting ready to go.
Rifle Falls.
Day 2 was a ride from Glenwood Springs to Carbondale for us.  The rest of the group
went on the Redstone, but we enjoyed the RR grade trail so much, we took it on
towards Aspen for a while.
The view behind us.
The view ahead.
A rest stop to check out the beaver
ponds.
Day 3 was supposed to be along the Glenwood Canyon bike path - a beautiful ride that
was not meant to be.  The Colorado River was running too high, and had flooded the
path.  I got a ride in and the girls decided to go on a hike instead.
